Performance and Workshop: Turning Jewels Into Water

Turning Jewels Into Water is a live electronic duo led by Indian-born drummer/producer Ravish Momin along with Haitian electronic percussionist Val Jeanty. They seamlessly blend futuristic turntables, ritual chants, polyrhythmic percussion, live loops and synth melodies along with rhythms inspired by global dance music. Momin and Jeanty will bring their workshop and performance to the IDeATe Media Lab (HL A10A) on Monday, March 18th at 6:30 p.m. This event is free! More information is available at

This afternoon, March 7th, at 4:30pm at the STUDIO for Creative Inquiry, Jane Werner, Director of the Pittsburgh Children's Museum of Pittsburgh, will be speaking about the new Museum Lab that is opening this April. Museum Lab is a new museum for older kids featuring experiences in art, tech, making, and learning.They are staffing up quickly and looking for interns. If an internship may be of interest to you, come prepared to speak with her after her presentation. There will also be refreshments!

3D Animation Specialist

The National Robotics Engineering Center (NREC), part of CMU's Robotics Institute is seeking a talented and creative 3D animation specialist to develop detailed concept visualizations that convey novel robotic solutions to customers. The candidate should have a general understanding of mechanisms and vehicles and be able to demonstrate their skills in visualizing both. Tough Art Residency Program

The Children's Museum of Pittsburgh announces a request for proposals for its annual Tough Art Residency Program. (Hint! IDeATe instructor R.
