SURG/SURF + International Computer Music Conference + Innovation Costume

Applications for SURG/SURF awards are open and due March 23rd! These funds from the Undergraduate Research Office allow students to pursue research and other projects by providing funding for supplies, materials, travel to collect data. They are a terrific resource so attend one of the upcoming application workshops on Wednesday, February 21st, 4:30 p.m. in GHC 4307 and Sunday, February 25th, 5:00 p.m. in GHC 4102. The International Computer Music Conference (ICMC) 2018 will be held in Daegu, South Korea August 5th - 10th and is currently accepting submissions for installations, music, panel proposals, papers, and workshop proposals. This year’s theme is Preserve | Engage | Advance as it broadly relates to the diverse field of computer music including auditory display, cognition, composition, digital audio effects, digital libraries, DSP, MIR, musicology, multimedia, NIME, performance, perception, soundscape, and WebAudio. The World Costume Design Curatorial committee will premiere its second major exhibition, Innovative Costume of the 21st Century: The Next Generation, at the State Historical Museum in Moscow, Russia June-August 2019. The committee is seeking submissions of innovative work from young professionals, students, independent costume and fashion designers, as well as interpreters and costume makers.
