Thiago Hersan Visits Carnegie Mellon to Talk about Big Data
Thiago Hersan, a graduate of the Electrical & Computer Engineering program here at Carnegie Mellon, visited campus on November 20th to discuss his work with Big Data.
"When we think about digital communication in a not-so-distant future, it’s not hard to imagine situations where our interactions have been optimized, and our devices are having all the fun communicating.
About Thiago Hersan: Oakland-based Brazilian. Used to design circuits for next-generation semiconductor manufacturing technologies. Currently working on interactive robotic toy design at BeatBots in San Francisco, and on low-tech disruptions with the art and design collective Astrovandalistas.
In this talk I will present memememe, a robotic sculpture that explores this idea, and other projects I have done that deal with affective communication mediated by technology."
