Jackie Green from Alteros, Inc. will be at WQED on Wednesday, March 7th at 6:00 p.m. to give a talk on wireless technology. She will discuss wireless spectrum densification and regulation, key timelines for regulatory and operational requirements, a review of the spectrum affected, and where wireless microphones and devices can operate, how large events are planning frequencies, new products and technologies, and what we might expect in the future. A tour of WQED will also be provided.
TEDxCMU invites IDeATe students to present at this year's TEDxCMU Innovation Expo. During the expo, attendees will be able to interact with your exhibits in a science-fair-style setting. For more details, contact Dean Dijour by March 9th.
Prototype PGH is a local, feminist makerspace co-founded by IDeATe instructor Louise Larson. Prototype PGH was recently named one of the four winners of the Google Impact Challenge Pittsburgh. They now have the opportunity to win an extra $50,000 to support their innovative work creating economic opportunity in Pittsburgh. Applications are now open for Spring 2018 ProSEED/Crosswalk grants. Any member of the CMU community can receive funds, typically $500 - $2,500, to support the development of new initiatives in areas such as quality of life, service learning, student competitions, development of new courses, entrepreneurial activities, and pilot projects. Team members from Riot Games will be on campus Monday, March 5th. They will be hosting a talk in Rashid Auditorium at 5:30 p.m. to discuss their work on games like League of Legends.
