CAS Speaker's Series Presents Amy Lockhart in Conversation
Wednesday, October 24th at 4:30 p.m. in College of Fine Arts Room 303, Amy Lockhart will speak about the ideas behind her animations, artwork and comics. She will discuss the techniques and production methods she uses including: self-publishing, animation, live action with animated special effects, website, and installation. Zynga Internship Discussion
Representatives from Zynga will visit next Wednesday, October 24th to discuss internship opportunities with interested students. The talk will be at 6:00 p.m. in IDeATe Studio B (Hunt Library 106C).

Your Input Needed! Survey on Documentation Practices in IDeATe Courses
HCI students in the IDeATe course Learning Media Design want your input! Their course project is to design solutions to enhance the learning and documentation process of students who have taken and/or who are currently enrolled in IDeATe courses. Right now, they are looking to understand students’ opinions on their documentation practices via a short survey. The survey should only take about five minutes to complete and your opinions will be valuable for their design! The survey can be found here.
Spring 2019 SURG Deadline is October 24th
Small Undergraduate Research Grants (SURG) are open to ALL undergraduates in any discipline, freshman-seniors. Grants are available of up to $500 for single entries and up to $1,000 for group entries to cover project expenses including but not limited to supplies and materials, time on laboratory equipment, or travel to another city for archival research. saajtak Performance
IDeATe presents a special free performance and master-class on Tuesday, October 30th, 1:30 - 3:00 p.m. in the IDeATe Media Lab (Hunt Library A10A) by Detroit-based art-rock ensemble saajtak. In the masterclass/demo following the performance the group will demonstrate the techniques and practices they have created using custom software and electronics as well as extended performance techniques.

Amazon Sumerian AR/VR Challenge

Comedy Central Animated Shorts Program
Comedy Central has just announced their new Animated Shorts Program. This initiative is designed for creators to submit short form animated ideas directly to the network with the potential to sign a development deal. Guidelines and submission portal are available here. Deadline to submit is December 31, 2018.
