A discussion with Student Academic Success about shifting to an online research, learning, and working environment
How have you been maintaining a normal work/life schedule while at home? Do you take regularly scheduled yoga breaks? Do you end the work day with a Zoom game with family or friends? This Friday, April 10th, 12:30-1:30 pm EDT on Zoom, come share your tips and strategies, and hear what's working for others in an interactive discussion with the Student Academic Success Center (SASC) and the Graduate Student Assembly (GSA).
GSA has shared guides on tips and strategies for working and living remotely. This workshop will actively go through the contents of these as well as resources available through SASC, before interactively sharing additional strategies among workshop participants. The workshop is open and applicable to all CMU members: students, faculty, and staff.

Summer 2020 courses will be online. IDeATe has two summer courses scheduled: 53-110 Introduction to Game Prototyping and 53-353 Understanding Game Engines. Both of these courses will be happening and are shifting online. Seats are still available!

IDeATe Professors Underscore Benefits of Documentation in Creative Practice
Kathryn Reilly, a senior in the Department of English, is working on a special series focusing on documentation practices in IDeATe courses. She has been speaking with students about their portfolios and with IDeATe faculty members Tom Corbett, Marti Louw, and Robert Zacharias. Reilly's work on the series began before everything changed, but this abrupt shift is a unique opportunity to think about just how important documentation is in our work when we have an unexpected disturbance. Her first article is up on ideate.cmu.edu now. Take a look and keep an eye out for the rest of the series!
IDeATe Student Directory
Last year, the IDeATe Design for Learning students proposed a great idea: a student directory on ideate.cmu.edu. IDeATe students are from all over the university, take many different types of classes, and all pretty proud of the fact that they're doing such interesting work at Carnegie Mellon. It would be great to be able to recognize each other and show others that this is part of their student experience. We're happy to announce that the directory is now live and has profiles and contact information for the students who have opted to contribute to it.
