stephanie-loveless-in-concert-october-2023.jpgJoin Stephanie Loveless in the IDeATe Media Lab (HL A10A) on October 5 for a Deep Listening Workshop and performance. Deep Listening, as developed by Pauline Oliveros, explores the difference between the involuntary nature of hearing and the conscious nature of listening. Loveless is a Montreal-born artist whose research centers on listening and vocal embodiment. She makes softspeakers out of paper cups, performance prescriptions for audience-identified ailments, and sound works that channel the voices of plants, animals, and musical divas. Her sound, video, and performance work has been presented in festivals, galleries, museums, and artist-run centers worldwide. The workshop will run 4-6pm and will be followed by the performance at 7pm.
